In this role, you will create and edit reference materials accessed by users around the world. <span>#LI-FA1</span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span>This is a full-time remote position for candidates in the United States. </span><span>#LI-REMOTE</span></span></span></span></p> <h4><strong>WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING </strong></h4> <ul> <li>Create and revise definitions in dictionary and thesaurus entries </li> <li>Create and revise IPA transcriptions and phonetic respellings of head words that appear in the dictionary</li> <li>Research and write etymologies </li> <li>Write editorial notes to explain the correct usage of words </li> <li>Craft example sentences that illustrate the correct usage of words </li> <li>Find fun and creative words that can be used for the Word of the Day and Synonym of the Day </li> <li>Work with our team of content writers, voice talent, illustrators, and more to ensure dictionary and thesaurus entries are accurate, fun, and engaging</li> </ul> <h4><strong>WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR </strong></h4> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Linguistics or a closely related field </li> <li>Impeccable knowledge of English grammar and the International Phonetics Alphabet </li> <li>Superior writing and editing skills </li> <li>Ability to adjust to in-house style guidelines </li> <li>Familiarity working with the Chicago Manual of Style </li> <li>Previous lexicography experience is a plus </li> <li>Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of age groups </li> <li>Ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously </li> <li>Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas and a strong attention to detail</li> </ul><div><h4><span>ABOUT IXL LEARNING</span></h4> <p><span>IXL Learning is the country's largest EdTech company.
