Senior Corporate Public Relations Coordinator

Role Specific Information Job Description This role is based at our Corporate Office in Menomonee Falls, WI. You’ll work onsite from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. About the Role In this role, you will develop and execute strategic corporate PR plans to garner positive press coverage for Kohl's business priorities and support Kohl's broader corporate reputation efforts. What You’ll Do Lead PR support of specified business area initiatives, including drafting strategic plans and supportive materials such as press releases and media pitches to drive impactful storytelling Develop strong media contacts across a regional geographic territory to secure coverage of Kohl's business initiatives while also serving as a key partner to store and district managers in the region Field reactive media and speaking event inquiries and draft informed recommendations and rationale Conduct audits and analyses to inform PR recommendations and deliver timely, informed counsel with rationale Stay well informed on news of the day to identify and share key trends across the news media landscape, retail industry and corporate PR field Assess program results regularly to understand successes and opportunities and recommend go-forward actions Develop and maintain relationships with cross-function partners across the organization to stay up-to-date on business strategies and key initiatives Support broader PR team reporting and media tracking, including a daily headlines report Support executive social media strategy specific to specified business areas, including content calendar planning, drafting post copy, securing approvals, providing recommended engagements and assisting with tracking and reporting Maintain updated media lists, demonstrating a customized approach to account for differences across media channels and markets Share relevant changes and newness in reporter beats and media outlets Support applicable PR events and activations, including leading all logistical details and meeting deadlines Additional tasks may be assigned What Skills You Have Required Four-year degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or other applicable areas of study and 3-5+ years experience in public relations, journalism or communications Experience working with regional and trade media across digital, print and broadcast outlets Excellent time management and prioritization skills Strong problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in AP style Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, capable of working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment Ability to work on multiple programs with various components simultaneously Experience project managing PR initiatives in a fast paced environment Preferred Large corporate company experience or PR agency experience working with large corporate clients Retail experience Essential Functions The requirements listed below are representative of functions you will be required to perform, however you may be required to perform additional functions.
