Design Systems Designer, Adobe Express

The Opportunity Adobe Design is seeking a Senior Designer to scale the Design systems team’s ability to standardize and systematize Figma source files for the design system. In this role, you will craft compelling user experiences that empower creators to produce stunning designs effortlessly. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to scale and refine our design patterns and deliver scalable solutions that align with Adobe Express’s mission to make design fast, fun, and accessible for everyone. Adobe Express serves small and medium business owners, entrepreneurs, and enterprise customers, enabling them to produce high-quality content with ease. As part of the team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design and typography experience, ensuring it meets user needs while driving business goals. What You’ll Do Advance the System: Build and evolve the core foundations of the Express design system to support long-term scale and alignment with Spectrum 2. Custom Component Modernization: Design, define, and document key components within the Express Figma library 4 components prioritized for S2 migration (estimated 8–12 weeks per component) Updated Atoms Library: Align components with S2 token architecture Link components to the correct Storybook entries for seamless implementation Prepare for deprecation of duplicate or legacy components once S2 support for mobile is available Accessibility Compliance: Define accessible versions of components to meet WCAG and platform accessibility standards Equip Designers for Success: Create consistent, well-documented resources that make the design system easy to use. Build Figma Starter Files: Clean, ready-to-use templates for key surfaces (Home and Editor, web and mobile) to support consistent design execution. Framework Architecture Documentation: Clear definition of UI zones and their intended purpose and guidelines for how and when to use system components. Updated Source of Truth Files: Centralized, accurate design references Updated Patterns Library: Aligned with the latest Atom library updates to ensure consistency across experiences What You’ll Bring to the Team Experience: 5+ years of UX or Product Design experience, with a strong focus on design systems. Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience working with design systems and Communication: Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate Research-Driven Design: Ability to leverage qualitative and quantitative data to inform impactful design decisions. Attention to Detail: Exceptional design skills with a meticulous focus on production value and precision. Collaboration: Proven ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, balancing multiple projects while delivering high-quality results. Education: A degree in Design, HCI, or a related field is preferred. ​Nice-to-Haves Experience designing for web and content creation tools. based platforms with a focus on typography- Familiarity with Adobe Express or similar design tools.
