Role Description

This vital role will be part of the Finance team that supports External Supply. This individual will support a team responsible for planning and analyzing financial results for the manufacturing activities led by Operations leaders.

  • Support the financial planning and analysis processes for Amgen External Supply, including Contract Development & Manufacturing, Ops Raw Materials, and Devices.
  • Prepare quarterly financial close packages, including variance analysis for internal clients.
  • Complete the annual budget process, execute quarterly forecasts, and analyze actual financial results relative to planned results on a quarterly basis.
  • Support External Supply business cases, as needed.
  • Support integration efforts, as needed.
  • Document key work streams and other supporting material to ensure standardization and consistency in reporting and planning.
  • Research and document internal accounting and finance work streams for purposes of educating internal clients.
  • Provide support to Operations senior management to consolidate data across all Amgen manufacturing sites in order to prepare reports for the Operations Leadership Team.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree OR Master's degree and 2 years of Finance experience OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Finance experience OR Associate's degree and 8 years of Finance experience OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of finance experience.
  • 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or MBA degree.
  • Certified public accountant or past experience working in accounting (with preference for experience in cost accounting and/or manufacturing finance).
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Possess a continuous improvement attitude.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify and solve vaguely defined problems.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Hyperion and/or other large ERP and consolidation tools.
  • Proficiency with Smartsheets.
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders of an organization as an FP&A business partner or in some other advisory capacity.
  • Experience in preparing executive communication to include written and oral presentations.
  • Ability to influence at all levels with a customer service attitude.
  • Ability to take initiative and work within an autonomous environment.
