Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review patient charts and medical documentation to identify appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes for reimbursement
  • Assign and verify codes, ensuring they align with medical records and follow coding guidelines
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims; resolve billing discrepancies and resubmit as required
  • Process provider enrollment with other health insurance plans
  • Performs credentialling for providers and new insurers
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, payer regulations, and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Submit claims to insurance payers electronically
  • Regular communication regarding accounts receivable with designated health care personnel.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Access
  • Ability to meet defined performance and production goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent and minimum 2 years' experience in medical billing and/or coding.
  • Maintain professional certifications (e.g. AHIMA, AAPC, NHA)
  • Proficiency with electronic health records, medical billing software, and claims management platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), ICD-10 Coding, Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), and payor specific coding rules.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Experience with insurance billing processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA
  • Proven experience in medical billing and coding
